Willie Balt (B.Juris, LLB) – Director
Willie was admitted as an Attorney in 1999. He heads the Litigation as well as the Estates and Commercial departments and has a strong litigation background with excellent command of courtroom procedures and legal argumentation. Willie is widely recognized for his well-balanced approach to complex matters, and combines a compassionate, client-first mindset with strategic legal argument.
Marian Balt (B.Juris, LLB) – Director
Marian was admitted as an Attorney in 1998. She heads the Conveyancing as well as the Notarial departments. She is known for her precision, efficiency, and unmatched attention to detail in all aspects of conveyancing. Clients and real estate professionals value her ability to navigate complex property transactions smoothly and keep all parties informed every step of the way. She is particularly praised for her quick turnaround times, transparent communication, and her calm handling of time-sensitive transactions. As notary, she is skilled in notarial drafting of antenuptial contracts, authentication of international documents and notarial deeds.
Stefanie Terblanche (LLB) – Attorney
Stefanie was admitted as an Attorney in 2019. She did her articles with Balt Attorneys and has been with the firm since 2014. She specializes in litigation and debt recovery with a deep understanding of applicable South African laws. She ensures clients receive strategic and assertive representation. She is also involved in the deceased estates department resolving legal disputes that arises during estate administration, inheritance conflicts and claims by dependents. She is known for her commanding presence in court and her fearless advocacy on behalf of her clients.
Anneke Ferreira (LLB, LLM, CFP®) – Attorney
Anneke was admitted as an Attorney in 2008. She did her articles with Balt Attorneys in 2007, rendered the service of fiduciary specialist for ABSA Wester Cape and re-joined the Balt Attorneys in 2025. She holds a master’s degree in estate law and is skilled in drafting comprehensive estate plans and wills. She is known for her meticulous drafting skills and ability to simplify complex estate matters to help clients protect their legacies while minimizing tax exposures and future risks. With a passion for property law, Anneke also specializes in conveyancing. Whether you are a first-time homebuyer, a seasoned investor, or a property developer, she will ensure that your transaction is handled with professionalism and precision. She also has expertise in commercial matters including drafting and negotiating contracts and shareholder agreements.
Lizelle Geldenhuys – Conveyancing Assistant
Lizelle has been with the firm since 2017 and is a highly experienced conveyancing secretary who plays a vital role in the firm’s property law department. With a strong background in residential and commercial property transfers, she ensures that every transaction is processed smoothly, efficiently and in full legal compliance. She works closely with conveyancers and attorneys and provides essential administrative and legal support throughout the conveyancing process. Lizelle is known for her strong organizational skills, attention to detail and a thorough understanding of conveyancing procedures.
Cathy Danvers (CAIB(SA)) – Estates Administrator
Cathy has been with the firm since 2014. With experience since 1989 she has a deep understanding of South African succession law and assists families in navigating the legal steps that follow the loss of a loved one. She handles the full process of estate administration with efficiency and compassion. From reporting the estate to the Master’s Office to preparing Liquidation and Distribution Accounts, she ensures that all legal requirements are met and that heirs receive their inheritance without any unnecessary delay.
